In the warehouse, you need to be able to keep up with production. However, in the rush to be as efficient as possible, it can make it very easy to have an accident. It’s important to make safety a top priority, by having anti-fatigue mats around to provide an extra layer of traction so even in the most chaotic of times, people don’t have as high of a risk falling.

According to the Harvard Business Review, injuries are more likely to happen in the workplace when there is a big pressure put on earnings. This means that warehouse managers are told to get high earnings, so they’ll frequently look to production speed as a way to make sure they’re being as economically efficient with time as possible.

The news provider conducted a study and found that injury and illness rates are between 5 and 15 percent higher when businesses meet or closely beat the earnings forecast.

Safety should be a top priority in relation to productivity. If a worker is injured on the job, he or she will be unable to perform their tasks as well, if even at all. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, investing in employee safety can actually improve a business’s financial performance overall.
