UConn Today reports that not being physically active on a daily basis contributes to up to 300,000 deaths per year in the U.S. In an effort to reduce one’s risk of an early death, it’s important to make physical activity a part of the daily routine.

People who are interested in purchasing standing desks may make it a reality when they find out all of the health benefits that come from using them. According to Smithsonian Magazine, there’s less of an obesity risk when using a standing desk because standing burns at least 50 more calories than sitting. There have also been studies to indicate there is less of a risk of developing cancer as well as improving one’s posture. Instead of getting up to stretch, take sitting breaks throughout the day.
